What is Nasonex 24HR Allergy?

Nasonex 24HR Allergy (mometasone) is a glucocorticoid (steroid). It works by preventing the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

Nasonex 24HR Allergy nasal spray is used to treat nasal symptoms of hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies, including nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, and itchy nose.

This medicine is approved for this use in adults and children who are at least 2 years old.

Warnings

Nasonex 24HR Allergy is only for use in the nose. Do not spray into your eyes or mouth.

Do NOT use Nasonex 24HR Allergy:

  • in children under 2 years of age
  • to treat asthma
  • if you have an injury or surgery to your nose that is not fully healed
  • if you have ever had an allergic reaction to this product or any of the ingredients.

Mometasone can lower the blood cells that help your body fight infections. Avoid being near people who are sick or have infections. Call your doctor for preventive treatment if you are exposed to chicken pox, measles or tuberculosis. These conditions can be serious or even fatal in people who are using Nasonex 24HR Allergy.

Stop use and ask your doctor if your symptoms do not get better within 7 days of starting use, or you get new symptoms such as severe facial pain or thick nasal discharge. You may have something more than allergies, such as an infection.

Stop use if you get a constant whistling sound from your nose. This may be a sign of damage inside your nose.

Seek medical help right away if you have an allergic reaction to this product.

Stop use and see your doctor if you have new changes to your vision that develop after starting this product, or if you have severe or frequent nosebleeds.

Avoid getting Nasonex 24HR Allergy in your eyes. If this does happen, rinse with water and call your doctor.
