What is NutreStore?

NutreStore is an amino acid that affects the processes of growth and function of cells in the stomach and intestines.

NutreStore is a medical food product that is used to supplement dietary sources of glutamine. NutreStore is used to treat a this medicine deficiency, or a loss of glutamine caused by injury or illness.

NutreStore is also used in combination with human growth hormone to treat short bowel syndrome.

NutreStore may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Before taking this medicine

To make sure NutreStore is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:

FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether NutreStore will harm an unborn baby. Do not use NutreStore without a doctor's advice if you are pregnant.

It is not known whether glutamine passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medicine without a doctor's advice if you are breast-feeding a baby.

How should I take NutreStore?

Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

When treating short bowel syndrome, you may need to take NutreStore 6 times per day for up to 16 weeks.

The number of times per day you take NutreStore depends on the reason you are using it. Always follow your doctor's instructions.

Take NutreStore oral powder with a meal or snack unless directed otherwise.

Take NutreStore tablets on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

Dissolve your dose of glutamine oral powder in at least 8 ounces of hot or cold liquid. You may also mix the powder with a soft food such as pudding, applesauce, or yogurt. Stir the mixture and eat ...
