What is sertaconazole topical?
Sertaconazole topical is an antifungal medication that fights infections caused by fungus.
Sertaconazole topical (for the skin) is used to treat tinea pedis (athlete's foot) in adults and children who are at least 12 years old.
Sertaconazole topical may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Before taking this medicine
You should not use sertaconazole topical if you are allergic to it.
It is not known whether sertaconazole topical will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant.
It is not known whether sertaconazole topical passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Do not use sertaconazole topical on anyone under 12 years old without medical advice.
How should I use sertaconazole topical?
Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Do not take by mouth. Sertaconazole topical is for use only on the skin.
Clean and dry the affected area.
To treat athlete's foot: Apply the medicine to the affected areas between the toes and nearby skin 2 times per day for 1 month.
Do not cover the treated skin area unless your doctor tells you to.
Wash your hands after applying this medicine.
Use this medication for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared. Skipping doses may also increase your risk of further infection that is resistant to antifungal medicine.
Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse while using sertaconazole topical.
Do not use sertaconazole topical to treat any skin condition that has not been checked by your doctor. Do not share this medicine with another person, even if they have the same symptoms you have.
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
