What is bacitracin ophthalmic?

Bacitracin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria.

Bacitracin ophthalmic (for the eyes) is used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes.

Bacitracin ophthalmic may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Warnings

Do not use bacitracin ophthalmic if you have a viral or fungal infection in your eye. Bacitracin ophthalmic treats only infections that are caused by bacteria.

Before taking this medicine

You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to bacitracin.
