What is Xopenex HFA?
Levalbuterol is a short-acting bronchodilator that relaxes muscles in the airways and increases air flow to the lungs.
Xopenex HFA is used to treat or prevent asthma attacks in adults and children who are at least 4 years old.
Xopenex HFA may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Before taking this medicine
You should not use Xopenex HFA if you are allergic to levalbuterol or albuterol (Accuneb, ProAir, Proventil, Ventolin).
To make sure levalbuterol is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:
heart disease, high blood pressure, or congestive heart failure;
a seizure disorder;
diabetes; or
a thyroid disorder.
