What is Acular LS?
Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
Acular LS (for the eye) is used to relieve eye itching caused by seasonal allergies.
Acular LS is also used to reduce swelling, pain, and burning or stinging after cataract surgery or corneal refractive surgery.
Acular LS may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Warnings
Follow all directions on your medicine label and package. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions, allergies, and all medicines you use.
Before taking this medicine
You should not use Acular LS if you are allergic to ketorolac. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any other NSAIDs, such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), celecoxib, diclofenac, indomethacin, meloxicam, and others.
To make sure Acular LS is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:
a bleeding or blood-clotting disorder;
diabetes;
arthritis;
dry eye syndrome; or
a condition for which you take a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven).
It is not known whether this medicine will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant.
It is not known whether ketorolac ophthalmic passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice.
