What is Goodsense Cetirizine D-12 Hour?

Cetirizine is an antihistamine that reduces the natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose.

Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose).

Goodsense Cetirizine D-12 Hour is a combination medicine used to treat cold or allergy symptoms such as nasal and sinus congestion, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, or runny nose.

Goodsense Cetirizine D-12 Hour may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Warnings

You should not use Goodsense Cetirizine D-12 Hour if you have narrow-angle glaucoma, severe high blood pressure (hypertension), severe coronary artery disease, if you are unable to urinate, or if you are allergic to hydroxyzine (Atarax, Vistaril).

Do not use this medicine if you have taken an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction could occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, and tranylcypromine.

Before taking this medicine

You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to cetirizine or pseudoephedrine, or if you have:

  • narrow-angle glaucoma;

  • severe high blood pressure (hypertension);

  • severe coronary artery disease;

  • if you are unable to urinate; or

  • if you are allergic to hydralazine (Atarax, Vistaril).
