Hydroxyzine hydrochloride is designated chemically as (±)-2-[2-[4-(p-Chloro-α-phenylbenzyl)-1- piperazinyl]ethoxy]ethanol dihydrochloride. The structural formula is as follows:
Inactive Ingredients for Hydroxyzine Hydrochloride Oral Solution, USP are: citric acid anhydrous, peppermint flavor, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, sucrose and purified water. It may also contain citric acid anhydrous or sodium citrate for pH adjustment. The pH range is 2.8 and 4.2.
